it might be the largest in terms of number of competitors - even given usa dance, pro, and pro/am? OSB has lots of entries, tho.
MIT this is year is 1000+ competitors, 750+ couples, 2 days. maybe largest in the US? DCDI is a good size too.

everything in LA is within "driving distance," just whether you want 1.5-2 hr each way or not. in the east coast, that could be 3 states.
