    Thanks For the welcomes :)

Another salsa classic that i havent noticed here...

I've had the time of my life, from dirty dancing.

Since this movie is probably what made salsa known in non latin countries...(even if i'm not sure if they dance salsa there, but this song sure fits the beat).

My first post... my favorite songs..

    Hi people,

I just arrived to this forum and saw this post which called my attencion.

I really prefer clasic songs from the 70's, but there are several new CDs with really interesting stuff. I like the new CD from Raulin Rosendo (great sonero in my oppinion). A new group from Venezuela (I think) Bailatino has a great CD "Bailatino llego... con todo". Not so new the CDs from Jimmy Bosch (specially Soneandop mi trombon), Spanish Harlem Orq., los soneros del Barrio.

But what I like the most are clasics. There are great songs from Larry Harlow, Ray Barreto, Cortijo y Ismael rivera, Tito Puente, Andy Harlow, Willie Colon, Tipica 73, Bobby Rodriguez, Bobby Valentin, Orquesta la Unica, La Sonora Ponceña, El Gran Combo (algunas...), Javier Vasquez y la veradad.

It is very difficult to name a few songs... but I leave a few here.

    - La sonora Ponceña - "Yambeque" and "Date Quenta" (CD "determination", 1982)
    - Bobby Rodriguez - Numero 6 (CD "lead me to that beautiful band", 1975)
    - Javier Vasquez - "Se formo la rumbantela" (CD "La verdad", 1974)
    - Ismael Rivera - "El nazareno" y "La soledad"

All the best for you all in 2004. Regards from Portugal.

I wanted to add another song to the list but of course I can't get the name of it or what CD it's on. I do think it's by Gilberto Santa Rosa. A sample of it is at this site. http://www.peachexploration.com/Salsa.html Anyone know info about this song? I love it and it's driving me nuts. Note: I'll be taking it off soon because of copyright laws so if anyone has a chance/time in the next 30 minutes, that would be awesome!!!

If I'm correct it's called Este Apartamento, or apartamento, and it is Gilberto singing.

    Hi BorikenSalsero. Thanks! :D
  8. Yes, Gilberto Santa Rosa sings that. It's is from Willie Rosario's album Back to the Future.

    (See my list.)
  9. Not an album I own, but I'm pretty sure it's good and I do plan on buying it sooner or later. Willie Rosario's presence on a project is generally a good sign.

Tito Rojas – Ayer mi Dijeron, Condename a tu Amor, Juguete de Nadie and Amor del Bueno
    Gilberto Santarosa – Usted
Hector Lavoe – El Cantante (This song has sad undertones, but he still spews “I am the man!!!”)

    Thanks borikensalsero, I appreciate that!!

Hey, I also heard about that whole “Porno” thing, but it never interested me… I see the word Porno, and it just brings me back to my youth when every time I asked my mother why I couldn’t have something?, she always answered with a sharp “POR que NO!!” I just figured it “had” to be something negative or something that I am not supposed to have or see anyway!! :p

    Sorry guys, it’s late…

Oh, by the way… Another one of my favorites is:

Hector Lavoe – Hacha y Machete
