Guantanamera is a guajira which has became incredibly popular and has been played by just about every great singer in the salsa world. Guantanamera is guajira's most famous song. One of the more popular versions we hear today is indeed sang by Celia Cruz.

Guajira Guantanamera was written and sang by Joseíto Fernández. Guajira is cuban peseant music.

I found this way at the beginning of this thread - Boriken what do you think of Orq Tabaco y Ron's version of "Juliana?". I just heard it on SalsaStream and I really liked that slightly faster tempo. I'm really really bad with the names of song and artists (I always remember the feel though) - but the Cuco Valoy version was the first I heard and I like that a lot too. Always makes me want to get up and dance even when I'm tired. :p

I did however, locate the DLG cover of this song...and I will agree *ugh*...there's something about it that just doesn't feel right...

Just curious -- what's the second last song of the salsa medley on your site called?

Hi MacMoto! The original artist is Mickey Taveres. Name of the song is: Mi Historia Entre Tus Dedos

Nope SG, I haven't heard the version by Orq Tabaco y Ron. I must mention that I tend to really not like remake salsa songs I love. Juliana really makes me wanna get up and shake it. That DLG version broke my heart. I couldn't believe someone could destroy a song so badly.

    Welcome on board Xtreme!! :)

I´ve had the misfortune of dancing this song with a girl who was stiff, weighed a ton (even though she was thin) and slow to react... It wasn´t a good experience... :(

Yes, absolutely love their Salsa "English" version of "Lady". Although, I don't particularly care for Salsa being sung in English (just my own preference), however, I do like this one. :)
