Hey I am hoping you guys could list some of your favourite new/moddern tango songs. I myself have just started to learn some ballroom and latin dances and I am really enjoying the social dances at the end of each night ( Similar to Objection (Tango version) by Shakria) I have been searching for ages to find a song which they played on a couple of nights during a tango dance. Just I can't remember the name. The start was somewhat similar to the Tango Flemenco. But then it when into a bit of singing and become more dance/party and club like. Cheers, and thanks in advance.
check this: http://www.tejastango.com/neo-tango.html http://www.neotango.com/neotangos.html Ballroom tango and argentine tango do not have the same rhythm
RE: Tango Flamenco Hi Rikiiy, welcome to DF! I know only 2 tango-able pieces with castanets that I often play, first is Casale Rossana´s Alba Argentina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6m2iveFszU . Its one of the highlights of my POP-and-SoundTrack-Tanda and can be used for Rumba/Son/BoleroCubano dancing as well. second is Paco de Lucia together with Chambao Tango Flamenco http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u3iX54CMlQ The latter is andalusian Tango and fits better to english than to argentine tango. Was your tune among that 2 ? A favorite of mine for years without flamenco-touch Alas de Tango from Leon Gieco http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq13vzFD3S8 SL OD
..perhaps Canta per me ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reL2gyj03RE No tango actually, but a nice medievial x japanese techno cross over ...
there is Orquestra Berretin Tosca Tango Orchestra Tango Lorca (Lonely Woman) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLgqRT6NGoE Radio Valencia Mood Area 52 Mandragora Tango Orchestra
Ahh I see. Yeah sorry about the mix up (Been dancin for just about a month) Thanks heaps for the quick reply's.
Finally found it. Although I am unsure if this is the correct name... Itunes Link : http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?i=314257412&id=314257093&s=143460 Title: Tango Passion (Tango - 33 T/M) Time: 3:30 Artist :Vio Friedmann Album: The Most Beautiful Songs for Dancing, Vol. 4 Price: $1.69 Genre: Dance Would this be the correct name? Thanks in advance!!
Welcome to the DF, Rikiiy I approved your post b/c you did nothing wrong, and b/c the link is pertinent to the topic, however, for the future, pls know that members may not post live links per the guidelines until they have approx. 50 or so posts. Just saves us a wee clean-up. Again, welcome.
Re: Tango Passion Hi Rikiiy, does this Largo version depend on the same piece? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gopntXoYE0Q ? Interesting song. But, for its precise 4/4 beat, it is better suited for DiscoFox, Hustle etc. and, by change Milonga (an argentine polka) . The title is just a gag. Could also be Voodoo, Voodoo .... Come on, tell us your interests. Do you start composing electronic music, as well? And, the most interesting question, what language is Rikiiy? Here is one you may probably like Tanghetto, Emigrante http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71G7sF1qun4 Has kind of BachaTango rhythm, but also fits for Milonga. ... Have you ever heard of Tango Argentino, or NeoTango? cheers
Music Question Hi Rikiiy Try listening out for Inspiration by Calexico or One Step Closer by the Hot Club of Cowtown. As an alternative try Little Drop of Poison by Tom Waits or for more traditional, but modern, Pa Bailar by BajoFondo Bradders
