    DRAT! BLASTED! I missed that.

    I had a prior commitment but I won't forget
to set my vcr the next time.

Well I'm glad I can rely on you guys
for the skinny on the show. Thanks.

Poor Jerry must feel like he's in a nightmare from which there is no escape.

Did the pros dance exclusively again? Did Lionel Richie sing "All Night Long" on the show?

I just saw Stacey Keibler and George Hamilton on some kind of Nabisco cracker commercial. And Progressive Insurance has Kenny Main on one of their spots. Have there been any other commercials out lately with prior DWTS stars?

Rachel Hunter and Lisa Rinna have done infomercials (I think that's what you call them). John O'Hurley did commercials for car insurance, and so did Rachel Hunter (both were hilarious). I don't remember anyone else. Most of them are working now with other things, but those were a few that I could recall.

Oh, I forgot to comment on one thing from Tuesday's show.
I definitely could have done without Dimples grabbing his crotch during the disco-thingamabob. And having to see the footage of it 3 or 4 times in practice. Good grief.

I'm with you on that. Ugh!

The bit they did about the costumes was pretty interesting. I would think that has got to be a distraction doing final alterations right before they go on to dance. I wondered, I know all the ladies costumes go up for sale, what about the men??

Loved what Emmit wore in the swing.

MOIB: After watching the performance again, I think I was wrong. It looks as if his shirt was like that the entire time but didn't really show until he did his deep bow at the end. At any rate, the ladies were pleased. However, I just read that they were shocked and dismayed that his goatee was gone. Lol!

Watched everything. Whoohoo! Karina and Louis rocked in the Mambo and Samba bits. Not that I didn't like them in the Lionel Richie samba. Duh. ;)
Jerry has gone too far. Bye bye Jerry!

Lionel Richie looks like he has not aged one bit. Just amazing.

I really enjoyed the body language bit...but didn't catch who was narrating. Anyone know?

Not just *any* mambo song -- they got the big daddy itself - Ran Kan Kan! How lucky where they??

Mario and Karina were chosen to dance again "because they captured the spirit of the song" (or something like that.) Gee, think that might be a little easier to do when you've got a song that actually fits the dance?

    yeah, ya think?

i completely tuned out during Nick and Lena, and i am not sure why... will have to watch it again, but at the time i was utterly disinterested. once i got an eyeful of her costume (i was expecting something really great) i was satisfied and zoned out.

Louis just killed me by going over the list of samba moves in their routine - bring it! It's true that the dance was lacking in samba character, perhaps, but I blame the music for that.

Lioinel Richie - OY. He should've stayed retired.

Nick and Lena, liked it because of the song- I've always loved that song. Hated it because of the song- hearing it butchered by the band THAT badly, ughh. Should not be sung by someone that lacking in soul, Freddie Mercury must be turning over in his grave.
Glad the ladies of The Manly Chest got open shirt from Nick. Although, as much as I don't want a goatee on MY man, he is definitely a man that the goatee works for.

A question: is the show now Dancing Latin/Rhythm with the Stars?

Last week: rumba or samba for everyone, right?

    This week:

I understand that the remaining pros are all latin specialists, and I personally prefer the latin dances, but I'm still surprised we haven't seen a little more standard/smooth dancing this series.

Is it that skimpy latin costumes jack up the ratings?

    My only other comments are:
    1) I do not agree that Joey's rumba was better than Mario's the week before. Joey really tried, and I think he captured the emotional character of the dance, but he did not have much in the way of hip action. Mario could have used more too, but at least he had some.
    2) I was disappointed with the way they did the "results" show. That was ultra-lame. Just have a showcase or behind the scenes, but don't do something so hokey and cheesy.
    3) Was Samantha on crack last night??? She was acting completely loopy backstage with Jerry. She's normally pretty bad, but last night felt like a new low.

Excellent Thanks! That was sooooo good!

I liked Lionel singing All Night Long for the Samba pros.
The song is steeped in that "tropical flava" so could be used as a samba.
I didn't mind this so much as some of the other songs they've used.
The pros were soooo excellent but then they always are.

That Lionel! I don't know what his routine is but it's uncanny. He looks and sounds great!

Gotta check the other video later when I come back!

 Only someone who's familiar with the PC game "Tribes" would know that word. You've played??

That's what I love about Louis! He's got attitude. First that "I'll show you where the samba was" comment Tuesday night and now this. The look on Monique's face as he read the moves was priceless :D

Totally agree. This song in particular seemed to be the best one for the pros to samba too. I think I liked this the best of all the musical guests where the pros dance performances.

I was surprised to see Tony do a salsa-style neckdrop with Elena and Karina's aerial with Maks was pretty neat (you could hear the crowd get louder when they saw that). :D

Actually, I think Louis did a good job of interpreting the music he was given. The choreography fit it well. It's not his fault the music was not samba, but crap!

he def worked with the steaming pile of you-know-what he was given.
