How to get the most from your dance lessons

    I, too, have drills and practice routines and homework to do between lessons. My coach often assigns reading and videos to watch as well.

    She says that solo practice is the best -- we can all dance with the perfect imaginary dance partner who never makes mistakes and always helps us to dance our best. :)

    that's exactly it! your mistakes are yours and you have a chance to learn from them at your next private. and you also have a chance to practice because it's practice that makes perfect, no one was born perfect!!!!(this is a joke about mistakes and perfection, cos I'm a perfectionist and sometimes fail to realize I need my mistakes in order to learn, cos that's the way I learn... )

    Practice needs to be mindful. As one of the instructors at the studio likes to say, "Practice makes permanent. Perfect practice makes perfect."
