    There are just many. I have a feeling I don't know all of them. Can you help me with my list?
    California Classic in January
    California Open in February
    USA Dance Southwest Regional in February
    Killick World Cup in March
    Emerald in May
    San Diego Dancesport in June (nearby LA)
    Desert Classic in July (nearby LA)
    Embassy in September
    Orange County DanceSport Challenge in October
    Holywood DanceSport end of October/early November
    California Star Ball in November
    Beverly Hills Holiday Ball in December

    City Lights Ball in San Jose in January.

    oops, sorry, ... that's in Northern CA. I see you're just talking about LA.

    Hey, that's okay, we should start another thread about that area too, and you do see people go back and forth between SF and LA.

    Whenever I hear California and Dancesport mentioned in the same sentence, I ask myself, why, why, why... did I leave California??? Of course that was before I started dancing, but to think of the amazing resources, comps, etc in that State....

    Well, there are also several well known colleges that sponsor competition as well. The Orange Blossom Ball - UC Riverside I believe, as well as Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (SLO for those of the central coast persuasion) - Mustang Ball, and Cal Tech in Pasadena. Open to all, basically. High Desert Classic in Lancaster/Palmdale

    If you are going to stay in the Southern California area, UC San Diego's Dance by the Shores is probably the largest collegiate competition in the Southwest, and is always held the first weekend of March.

    In some years, although not all, you can add USA Dance Nationals to that list.
