The most obvious song that comes to mind is Cristina Aguilera's Candyman.

You might want to see if you can rename the thread to "Modern music for Jive".

Some people will think you mean 'Music for Modern Jive (ie Ceroc)', and may just ignore it.

do you want it to be strict tempo?

Excellent point. Candyman is a good choice. Others include:
Let's Live it Up & Nosey Joe - Brian Setzer
Baby Likes to Rock It - The Tractors
Trickle, Trickle - manhattan Transfer (old, but still one of my favs)
    New Orleans - Debbi Bailes

"The Girl's Gone Wild" by Travis Tritt (I think)

Try it, I used to practice to this song all the time.

It needs to be slowed down a bit in order to be enjoyable... I have a version from The Latin Album 6 I think?? It is proper jive tempo and not too fast :) I like it!

    SOS (Rescue Me) by Rihanna.

They played this one at a comp I was at once.

I'm pretty sure that the original version is not strict tempo for jive.

The boy does nothing - Alesha Dixon (not sure my spelling)

Azucar Moreno's version of Tequila is fun if you slow it down. I've seen it played at comps.
I don't know whether this is "modern" enough, but Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham! is a good one.

"Shake It" -Metro Station. Fun and catchy, gets stuck in my head every time I listen to it.

Not sure how it measures up to comp tempo though...never checked it.

That is now considered "retro." :D

(You know you're old when the music of your youth is called "retro.")

I second "Girls Gone Wild", which is fun. "T-R-O-U-B-L-E" (also by Travis Tritt) is good as well but I think it has to be slowed down a little (I have all the music off my pro's hard drive that he gave me, but I don't have the software that shows measures per minute or lets me adjust tempo, so I don't know if the versions I have is adjusted or not.)

Likewise to my ear, "S.O.S." sounds more like ECS in its original version, but it could work.
