Aside from Spouse, the rest of the family (father, brothers) has been, well, supportive, in a kind of "Who are you and what have you done with my daughter/sister?" kind of way. They remember well the uncoordinated, shy, size 22 couch potato, and so when I showed them a video of one of my lessons, there was some shock. I've been becoming someone else for the past two years; lessons, practice, groups, socials: they change you. I think that's a little uncomfortable for them. Just a little. They're hoping I do a comp someday so they can come. I warned them it will be expensive (admission to the ballroom ain't like going to the movies) and time consuming, and, yes, boring when you're not intimately acquainted with someone who's dancing. (Although the ladies' Latin costumes should keep my brother entertained.) They're still talking the talk. We'll See. If ever.
