Hah. Yet another song search. I'm stuck. There's this rumba (ballroom rumba, for the salseros out there!) song called "Tell Me Why", but I don't know the artist. Lyrics go "please just tell me whyyyyy..." and so on. And yes, I've googled. Thousands of songs come up. Most common lyrics ever, it seems.

The first song that comes into my head with those lyrics is a Backstreet Boys song lol "Tell me whyyyy... blah blah... I want it thaaaat way" I guess that could be made into a Rumba

  Nope, not that one. I think it's sung by a woman, but I'm not 100% sure.
Drat. Here we go again on a wild goose chase.

    Annie Lennox?

That's the one I was initially thinking of too...

Does any of this look/sound familiar?

Why - Annie Lennox (from the Album "Diva", 1992)

How many times do I have to try to tell you
That I'm sorry for the things I've done
But when I start to try to tell you
That's when you have to tell me
Hey, this kind of trouble's only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don't you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut
That's why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
    Falling from your mouth
    Falling from your mouth
    Tell me...
    I may be mad
    I may be blind
    I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you're thinking
And I've heard it said too many times
    That you'd be better off
Why can't you see this boat is sinking
Let's go down to the water's edge
And we can cast away those doubts
Some things are better left unsaid

But they still turn me inside out
Turning inside out turning inside out
    Tell me...
    Tell me...
This is the book I never read
These are the words I never said
This is the path I'll never tread
These are the dreams I'll dream instead
This is the joy that's seldom spread
    These are the tears...
    The tears we shed
    This is the fear
    This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel?
'Cause I don't think you know how I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
I don't think you know what I feel
You don't know what I feel
  6. Could it be bachata? You can definitely dance ballroom rumba to that. Could it be Aventura's "Tell Me Why"? (There is more than one mix.)

 HothouseSalsero, I can recognise a bachata easily, not to mention the distinct sound of Aventura. Cuando Volveras is a beautiful song, but nope, it's not that one.
Medira, I love this song but it's not that one, unfortunately. The chorus starts with "tell me whyyyy" and ends with "Please just tell me whyyyyy". Best description I can give.

I know the song you have in mind. The original, I think, was in French. I think the singer's name is Giselle Cole (for the English version - don't know about the French).
The problem is that I am away from home. I actually have that song on my home computer, and if no one confirms this, I can probably check for sure on the weekend.

I have a rumba song that fits that description on the Album "Latin Dance 2" -25 bpm - length 3:51.

It is listed as "Kudin/Shulze/Crichlow" - I think the first part is the artist.

There is a 30s preview at:-

Heavens to Betsy. I never thought you'd get even one guess, much less multiples.

I have a song on my rumba CD which I absolutely LOVE and it goes like this:

    Oh, tell me why
Why can't you be here by my side?
    Tell me why
Someone to hold on to through the night
    Please just tell me why

I think this is probably the one you're talking about and it is "Kudin/Shulze/Crichlow" but there are lots of remixes of different sorts if you google (for example, Jessica Folker).

    I think it's a really great song!!!

   I can't believe it! That's the one on the preview! :D :D
I still can't believe it... thank you so much, guys! :D :D :D
Erhm. So what's the title of the song again?

Yep. That's the one. Giselle Cole (or it could be Folker!!) is the original artist, I think, and the one on the dance cd is a cover.
