Lincoln looks good - it's on my list of movies to see. Has anyone else seen the trailor and/or behind the scenes vid on YT about the full screen version of the musical version of "Les Miserables"? It's my favorite stage musical, and the movie looks AWESOME. The director's vision reminds me a lot of Peter Jackson's method for filming the LOTR triology, which was brilliantly done, and the cast is amazing - Hugh Jackman as Valjean, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Russell Crowe as Javert, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen as the Thenardiers...and the list goes on and on...opening Christmas Day!!
guilty pleasure: pitch perfect extraordinary pleasure: cloud atlas anticipated pleasure: Bond. James Bond.
Did anybody see Anna Karenina? the reviews are great. I'm lining up an entire day to go see the good stuff. I'm thinking Lincoln and this. Any thoughts?
i was wondering about that. DS wants to see it. Even if it's not good, the CGI looks like it would be worth the ten bucks.
Agreed on Skyfall. The pseudo-hacker talk made me twitch, but oh well. Can't have everything. Just watched Moonrise Kingdom on streaming. Very cute. I think it's my favorite Wes Anderson movie.
Very few movies get hacker stuff--or computer stuff for that matter--right. How many apps do you see where there's sound when text is displayed on the screen?
If I remember correctly, the 80s movie War Games was close to real hacking in many respects. But yeah. This Penny Arcade comic comes to mind. http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/7/16/brains-with-urgent-appointments/
The movie folks need to be like the Big Bang Theory people, who hire actual geeks to write a show about geeks. Must hire hackers.
