Love this one, MQ!
I saw this and just HAD to put it up:
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.(H.Ford)
That one was by Tanguera. Not sure if she's still using the site though.
Now I've got to find where I was..
My bad- she is.
Angel HI, this one is a real winner:
The dance is not the steps...it's that blissful moment in between.
"I intend to work for this dance of the future. I do not know whether I have the necessary qualities; I may have neither genius nor talent nor temperament. But I know that I have a Will; and will and energy sometimes prove greater than either genius or talent or temperament. Isadora Duncan
a sig not only for dance but for any success - bit like the brilliant 'genius is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration"
Just saw the thread. Merci bien. It was a photo-finish close up between that and "Dance is not what I do...it's what I am". But, it spoke of me, just a wee bit more.
OK DWise1 (this is truly a wise one):
The secret is to keep moving.
certainly beats the alternatives....
And here is a lovely one from new member etale:
Nice men marry dancers, real men become dancers!
"Like they say, inspiration is at least 99% perspiration, and in my case I think it's at least twice that!"
(Norville Barnes, The Hudsucker Proxy)
As I had said elsewhere, one of my fellow WCS students when I was just starting 6 years ago was a woman around 70. Even though she has heart problems, I still run into her frequently at country and swing dances. One night as I was sitting resting, that is what she told me.
That's exactly why I use my sig.
Welcome to Irisida and thanks for the great sig:
In life - as in dance - grace glides on blistered feet...
(just a reminder all, the featured sig has to be in colour on this thread)
I was reading this thread and in it saw the one I that like

"Great dancers are not great because of their technique; they're great because of their passion." Martha Graham
love that. And isn't it true for everything we try to do?
I loved it when I found it. Now, does anyone know who Martha Graham actually is? (I don't..)
Martha Graham virtually single handedly invented modern dance - and she danced well into old age.
See if you can find her doing her dance in the tube of material. Its still stunning.
here are some you tube links - her company dancing
a retrospective - a must read..
Now time to write the essay...
Here is the famous tube dance but not performed by Martha
 I am detecting a certain keenness from you, elise, for me to know who Martha Graham is..
lol Thanks for the links... all of them.
Wow.. So she was pretty cool, ey?
