Say you're a guest at a wedding reception and you'd really like to dance a waltz or cha-cha or foxtrot or rumba or [insert your favorite dance here] but the DJ hasn't played anything that works for the dance(s) you'd like to do.

The DJ has asked for requests, but it's pretty unlikely he'll have anything in his library from any of "The Ultimate Ballroom" or "The Ultimate Latin" CDs!

So, here's the challenge: Come up with a list of songs that are a.) likely to be in the average wedding DJ's library (i.e. fairly current pop songs) and b.) to which you could fairly easily dance your favorite smooth, standard, latin, rhythm and/or swing dances.

List your suggestions by song title and the dance(s) you'd do to each.

Here are some examples to get you started:

Lady Marmalade (Aguilera et. al.) - cha-cha
    Mercy (Duffy) - cha-cha
I Need to Know (Marc Anthony) - cha-cha
Get this Party Started (Pink) - cha-cha
    Smmoth (Thomas/Santan) - cha-cha
Orange Colored Sky (Natalie Cole) - foxtrot (not sure how likely this is to be in the average DJ's library, though)
    Le Freak (Chic) - Hustle
You Dropped a Bomb on Me (The Gap Band) - Hustle
Mambo No. 5 (Lou Bega) - Mambo
    Ain't it Funny (J. Lo) - Samba
    Bailamos (Enrique Iglesias) - Samba
    Misery (Pink) - Waltz
Take it to the Limit (Eagles) - Waltz
    Smooth Operator (Sade) - Rumba
My Cherie Amour (Stevie Wonder) - Rumba
Quando, Quando, Quando (Michael Bublé) - Rumba

    Temptation (Diana Krall) - Rumba/WCS
Somos Novios (Andrea Bocelli (hey, you never know, they might have it)) - Rumba
Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) (Beyoncé) - Samba
Everything I Can't Have (Robin Thicke) - Samba (though a little fast)
Pon De Replay (Rihanna) - Samba
Sway (*****cat Dolls/Dean Martin) - ChaCha
Sex Bomb (Tom Jones) - ChaCha

I could see that. I danced an Am tango to "Thriller".
  11. I though this is a break up song? It's been a while since I've listened to it.

Is is, or at least a "I'm not taking you back" song. But it's just for the party, not the first dance! At least I assumed this was a list for dancing to at the reception, not for potential first dances.

I'd buy him/her a 'large' drink if they did! Rick is very cool though and has a great voice

I think he also demonstrated at the Macy's Parade last year that he has a great sense of humor, too.
