What's wrong with wearing tails trousers, as long as your jacket/vest neckline doesn't come down below the waistband?

    Yeah, how cool is THAT.

Found it b/c I've been watching the showdances from Heritage in 1998 (I think) -- John Wood and Anne Lewis -- and YouTube "suggested" this link. Gave it a quick look and then watched it again and again. How things change! And how they remain the same!

That's not the same year as the Baricchis doing showdances, is it?

This is a really interesting thread to me. Australian New Vogue is vaguely similar to Smooth, and generally men wear tails (the one person I've known who didn't danced for a while in the US and wore a Smooth suit, lol). I don't think the tailsuit gets in the way or looks odd.

There was a push for it here in the states awhile back, to add it to American style. I hate the idea of it. We don't need it just for the sake of adding a 5th dance.

Apparently, I am the only pro-am lady who actually likes Peabody. Then again, I have the pleasure of dancing it with Teach, who also likes it. Pretty much everyone else would rather gouge out their eyes than do Peabody. I don't get it. The music is fun; the figures are fun; what's the problem?

I believe the problem with Peabody is it is misunderstood. Most view it as Smooth Quickstep with Grapevines and Underarm Turns but with Faster music. Sadly I was one of those people, but after dancing it at a recent competition I now see that it completely different than Quickstep. It's a throwback to a bygone era.
