America's Ballroom Challenge - Coming to TV

I just finished watching my video of the final program and I agree with you 100%. Garry & Rita's routine was my favorite of the night!!!

That routine didn't work for me. I almost liked it a few times during the V.Waltz and Q-Step snippets. But, no, didn't like it. I thought it was a little loose and sloppy and trying too hard. I think I felt like they were time and again sacrificing the character of the dances on the altar of the gimmick/music.

I think I was spoiled forever by http://youtube.com/watch?v=0_EXdbsyslg . I was totally enthralled by this routine when I first saw it.

Does anybody know when they might be re-airing this? The fates conspired to keep me away from this, as well as my parents, who would have taped it.
WTTW in Chicago will be reairing the finale on Saturday, March 24 at 9 p.m. Maybe other PBS stations around the country will do so as well this weekend.

They re-aired the last show sunday night on one of our pbs channels. Of course I only came in at the ribbon dance so I missed the whole first part. Guess I will just tape it as I go (taped all the other shows but missed the last one, so now I have the last part of the last one and just need the first part of the last one. ha ha!). Long story short, I'm hoping they re-air it here next Saturday or Sunday night too. lol!

I only brought this thread back up again, because I read on the America's Ballroom Challenge web site that they are going to air America's Ballroom Challenge again. It says International Latin will appear on August 1st. Grand Finale August 2nd. American Smooth August 6th. And American Rhythm August 6th. You have to check your local listings to be sure on the time for your area. I do think it will just be repeated shows. It says series 2 for International and the Grand Finale, but it doesn't say the same for the others. So, I guess if you didn't watch it, now is your time to watch it! It's always fun for me to watch them dance either way, so I'm looking forward to it. ;)

I would love to watch America's Ballroom Challenge again. SPratt, can you give us a link to the site you saw this on. I'm not finding it on the main PBS site, nor my local PBS station site. Thanks!

I'm hoping to catch this again as well. I've seen all of it except for the first part of the finals. I saw the last set of routines, but as I understand it, there was a set before that? Anyway, they did smooth and rhythm this past monday on one of my pbs channels. Will be checking every night now from monday on, just to see if they are airing the last part again. Hooray!

Incidentally, I have a "funny" for you guys that I may or may not have told before(hopefully not, I hate to repear myself). Its a stick your foot in your mouth sort of thing. I had taped the standard part of OSB, but my tape cut off just before they announced the winner of the standard showdance. So I got it in my head that someone other than Igor and Julia had won it. I saw Igor at the Atlanta Open and found the courage to go up to him and tell him how much I enjoy watching him dance(he was there dancing with his students, and Julia danced with him in the pro event that night). I told him I thought their Nirvana showdance at OSB was the best and they should have won. He looked at me kind of funny and said, "we DID win". Not being able to remember why I didnt know that, I just said something to the effect of how I must have gotten the results confused with some other competition and high-tailed it out of there. Only after I got home and re-watched it did I figure out that the reason why I didnt remember they had won was because my tape had run out and I had forgot the results, not having it on tape to jog my memory. Embarrassing! Have wished ever since that I could explain to him why I was such an idiot, but I doubt he would even remember what I was talking about. Open mouth, insert foot!! Story of my life! lol!!

Oh you poor thing! I could see myself doing something like that. Maybe you'll see him again at a comp. If so, if it were me, I'd probably bring the tape as evidence as to why I messed up the first time I had talked to him lol. :D

I'd put that in the category of leaving sleeping dogs lie . . .

and move on

I think that kind of thing happens a lot. Actors always have stories about being congratulated on roles they didn't play.
Yeah. Don't feel bad anp73ga31. You should hear about my one encounter with Brad Pitt. I didn't know who he was at the time. Hey, I'm not originally from Missouri, so I'll make that my excuse lol! But thankfully, this is off topic, so I won't go into it here *cough* lol. :p

Back on topic *cough* lol, I am going to try to figure out how to tape this. I've never used that function on my machine even though I've had mine for a few years now. It's a DVD/VHS combo. All I watch are DVD's now lol. Hmmm make note to self... must remember to do that.
