massage before dance?

I definately try to get one the day before. And even if it's not a competition mode thing,,,,,my pro always knows when I've received a massage, I stretch longer with my reach, my legs are in a great mode for movement and everything simply reacts better during the lesson, coaching or comp.
My opinion comes from another sport.

"Don't do anything new before a big race" Everything should be tried out in training way before the big event. That advice is for racing triathlons, but I think it applies here as well. Whether it is a massage or something else, I think you should try it out in practice way before your main event, no matter what the event is.
