I heard the song "La Rumba No" by Los Van Van recently and I've named it my latest favorite. It has a nice clear beat throughout that I think can be followed by even newbies. Still the band mixes the arrangement a little to make things more interesting. You can hear it on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3C9EpmC6S4

No new favorites, since I haven't been out Salsa dancing in a while. Old favorites:
- Micaela, the Sonora Caruseles version
- Mala Vida, by Yuri Buenaventura
- Papa Chango, by NG La Banda

It changes all the time, but one that has just popped into my head is "La Salsa y El Guaguancó" by La Excelencia... I guess that I just like the guaguancó rhythms so much

Los Van Van, Maykel Blanco & Orquesta Revé

My favorite all time song to dance to is one I have actually never danced to: Pura Vestimenta from the Los Van Van CD Lo último en vivo. Since it's an old song it never gets playing in clubs but I love it. The guaguancó at the beginning, the bass, the lyrics, the music in general. I daydream of dancing to it, but so far I've only ever heard the Ángel Bonne version played. I keep hoping that someday...

In the meantime new songs I am into are

Limpia mi son by Soneros All Stars
The new CD "Soy lo que te hala" by Maykel Blanco y Salsa Mayor especially the songs:
Qué tú crees?
No estás en el bombo
Reposa
Pa' cualquiera

And for me the best CD of 2010 will be "De qué estamos hablando?" by Orquesta Revé. Not released yet but should be out any day now.
Favorite songs:
De qué estamos hablando?
Mi amiga Chichy
La nueva explosión
Open the door
A Matanzas
Agua pa' Yemayá

As far a crazy-fun Mambo songs, one of my favorites is the "Oink Oink Mambo", where some of the clave rhythm is punctuated with "oink, oink"! It makes me laugh to break on that!

Carita de pasaporte by Havana D'Primera
Great lyrics and beautiful music. Alexander is such a great songwriter!
timba(.)com/radio song number 5 in the radio player

La Habana Tiene Su Meneo by Soneros All Stars
I got the complete mastered version now. It's funny how much horns will do for you, but I have to say you lose the clarity with which you could hear the piano and tres in the "teaser sin metales" version. Great dance song and fun to sing along with. Probably won't be released for another 4-6 weeks simply because iTunes takes a long time once you have submitted your song.
The teaser pre-release without horns version is number 4 at timba(.)com/radio

And I've gone retro as well especially into Manolín and the
Una aventura loca CD, mostly obsessed with Si te vas conmigo. Just another awesome dance song.
