Dead funny.

It's got nothing to do with the title, it is about being allowed a fair chance.

No point in continuing to repeat myself, so I'm going to leave it there - it seems nobody here has the ability to understand what I'm trying to say and as a result, my words keep getting twisted differently by every single person who posts on here to try to make it sound like I'm saying something else.
You are saying that Michael and Joanna had no chance of winning, because a significant number of judges had a record of marking them poorly.

We are saying that if that is they case, they should either try to change the judges' minds through their dancing (which is clearly possible, since Riccardo and Yulia changed judges' minds when they went from 2nd to 1st), or they should just completely quit competing, if all they care about is the judges' marks.

Please, everyone, remember that you are posting (sometimes uneducated) guesses and assumptions about Professionals choices and motivations. Unless said pros have issued a statement as to why they are not attending certain competitions, postings here are mere speculation and gossip.

My question to everyone here is... if THAT PRO were in your presence... would you continue to speak with such authority as to the state of their career? If not, then it probably is inappropriate to speak like in general.

Definitely misinterpreted me.

It isn't about the previous record of marks - it is about the solid dislike of them that is so deeply rooted that it can't be changed, no matter how they dance. Maybe people don't see what I see because I see a lot of these people off the floor, outside of dancing. I go to the afterparties, I socialise with them, I drink with them, and all sorts of things come up in conversation - but from where I see it, Michael and Joanna have no chance in hell of being marked evenly with four of those judges and no matter what they do on the floor, nothing will ever change that. And as far as I can see, the majority of it is for personal reasons not related to the dancing. Hence why dancing can't change it. I really can't explain it any better than that.

Maybe you're right and they should just quit.

Well said Larinda.

For what its worth Becca, as someone who also knows many competitors off the floor as well (even if not these particular ones), I totally understood and agreed with the point you were trying to make.

I suppose since I'm not with the in-crowd, going to the after parties, and drinking with all the pros, I can't come to the same conclusions as you.

As Larinda said, we don't know why they didn't show up, and I never presumed to know. As far as your speculation goes, as to why they didn't show up, I can't say I know it's wrong not to show up for those reasons, but I just can't see how it's right. I think we can agree to disagree.

I never claimed to be in any 'in crowd'! What on Earth is that supposed to mean? I simply stated the main source of my information in an attempt at making it easier for others to understand where I was coming from.

As for Michael and Joanna, either way, it's their decision, they're human beings with their own free will and the right to decide whatever they like with regards to their own career.

My speculation as you put it is based on nothing other than comments they have made in my presence in the past. I just assumed it was fairly obvious, so my bad.

Well in that case, why does everyone then spit it back to me in their own words, but making a completely different point altogether to the one I originally made?

Disagree all you wish, mate, but I sure know what I said and what I didn't!

I think he will probably have to settle for third place at this one. But I doubt that will stop him from doing all he can to try to push higher!

This is the first year since 2007 that I won't be there to watch, going to feel so weird. I had front row seats originally, but I just sold them. I'm going to watch the live feed on DSI instead.

I'll be watching the live stream as well. Too bad you can't go and you had front seats as well.

Becca, what do you think of Stefano and Dasha? and do you think it's possible they get third place? Also I heard Anna and Justinas are training again, I guess we will see them in 2014 competing.

I think Stefano and Dasha have the potential to overtake Andrej and Melinda eventually, but just not quite yet. They were fairly solidly behind them at the Worlds, so I think they will place 5th at International.

I think the lineup will be Riccardo and Yulia, Michael and Joanna, Maurizio and Andra, Andrej and Melinda, Stefano and Dasha and Emanuele and Elisa - who also, coincidentally, weren't present at the Worlds.

It was my choice to sell my tickets, really - I thought hard about it, but in the end I didn't feel like making the journey anymore and incurring all the expense involved when I have a trip to Hong Kong to pay for in the following month. I can still enjoy it all from home though, so I'm not really missing out on anything - just the cost! Just nice to be present to feel the atmosphere and witness it all first hand.

WHAT is up with Andrej and Melinda? They seem to be consistently on a downslide. Stefano and Dasha took the jive from them at Worlds. I hope they don't fall into the 12.

Yeah the exciting part is experiencing the event front row especially at royal Albert hall. You were so lucky to have gone every year since 2007. Oh last question, I almost forgot to ask you about Neil Jones and Katya. I know they are preparing for the Internationals, they weren't at worlds either but they placed 8th at blackpool right? Do you think they will place any higher?
